Ontario Accident Benefits
In Ontario, residents who own and drive a car are required to purchase car insurance which must include: Liability coverage, Uninsured Automobile coverage and Accident Benefits coverage.
Accident Benefits coverage provides you (or in the case of death, your dependants) with mandatory benefits you're entitled to receive if you're injured or killed in a car accident, regardless of who's at fault. And, if you're looking to increase your Accident Benefits coverage, you have the option to purchase enhanced benefits to add to your standard policy. Here's a list of options you can consider:

You also have new choices to customize your deductibles - the portion of a loss that you are required to pay:
- Direct Compensation: Property Damage Coverage - You have the option of a $500, $300 or no deductible at all on coverage to repair the auto of the driver who is not-at-fault.
- Tort deductible - You have the option to purchase an endorsement that reduces the deductible associated with court awarded compensation for pain and suffering by $10,000, and for Family Law Act claims by $5,000. The Tort deductible amount will be adjusted on an annual basis as of January 1st of every year and will be published in The Ontario Gazette.
